College Coach
The Seaside Classic’s College Showcase has continued to grow in terms of the number of college coaches attending as well as the caliber of prospective college athletes participating. Each year, we have attempted to improve the experience for visiting coaches to ensure that they are provided with the necessary information prior to or upon arrival at our event. Some of the attributes of our tournament which you may find attractive:
- High caliber of players coming from throughout the Northeast and Canada;
- All College Showcase fields are co-located and placed contiguous to each other;
- Coaches tent available for shade and rest between games;
- Complimentary meal available on-site both Saturday and Sunday with advance registration;
- URI annually hosts ODP Region 1 Girls Summer Camp on fields adjacent to the Seaside Classic Soccer Fields.
 I would like to invite you to join me in visiting the Seaside Classic Soccer Tournament and college showcase. There are a few players of interest to me and it looks like the level of competition will be strong. The local youth organization, The South County Youth Soccer Club (SCYSC), has a strong tradition of putting on a quality tournament, and 2011 represents the 20th Anniversary this July 9 & 10. Although this will be my first year attending in the role of a head coach, my familiarity with the membership of this Club and its history of bringing in talented players from teams throughout the Northeast have inspired me to attend the event and also to extend the invitation on behalf of SCYSC to fellow coaches throughout the region. It is my belief that you will find the quality of players as well as the setting worthy of a visit this summer.
